Formed in 2009 as a collaborative effort to streamline community awareness, compliance, and education efforts related to the Project Greenscape landscaper training. This group of local experts agreed to the common mission of protecting natural resources by promoting sustainable landscape practices in southwest Florida.

Protecting natural resources through innovative strategies that promote sustainable landscaping and stormwater pond management practices in southwest Florida.

Greenscape Alliance Long Term Goals
  • Increase community awareness of FFL principles and practices
  • Increase Knowledge and Skills of landowner and managers
  • Increase knowledge and skills of lake managers and green industry professionals
  • Contribute to/support efforts to reduce nonpoint source pollution and protect water quality
  • Work collaboratively to support and promote FFL principles and practices
Neighborhood Lakes and Ponds Program

In 2016, the Greenscape Alliance developed a series of Neighborhood Lakes and Ponds workshops for residents and visitors to learn about the challenges that face healthy ponds and lakes in Southwest Florida and how native plants in the littoral zone can help attract wildlife.
